Dear “3 Coffeys, No Sugar” Supporter, We embarked upon our 10th Walk to Cure Diabetes campaign with an aggressive goal: to raise $30,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). We are absolutely thrilled to report that thanks to your outpouring of support, we raised $37,000!! We are the #1 family team in Central Illinois, and the #2 family team in the entire JDRF Illinois Chapter! We are thankful for each and every donation, and for the nearly 100 walkers on our team. Breaking down the numbers, Emily's walk letter raised $20,000. The walkers, Peoria Notre Dame Girls’ Swim Team and the "Detweiller at Dark" running race raised an amazing $17,000. This represents a great deal of creative fundraising! Deserving special thanks is Adam White, owner of Running Central, who joined Michael & Dawn Helgeson to transform their 7th annual race into a destination event. We also thank our annual sponsors: Dr. Bruce Mathes, DDS for covering our mailing expenses and Alan McClouth, owner of Canteens.com, for our award-winning t-shirts! We are humbled by your generosity, grateful for your support and hopeful that the funds raised will contribute to finding the cure for type 1 diabetes. The coffee is available in regular or decaf, whole bean or ground. It is $14.00 per pound, with $7 going to JDRF via our walk team.
