Sarah, Emily and Sarah's friend, Nicki, had a lemonade stand and bake sale last Thursday and raised a whopping $119. They waved neon signs over their heads which read "Help us cure diabetes!" to attract passing motorists. I'm very proud of them!

Emily had the honor of speaking as a Youth Ambassador for JDRF at Caterpillar, Inc.! The Corporate Production Services (CPS) Division has chosen JDRF as one of their two annual "exceptions" to the no-solicitation rule. This is BIG news for the corporate side of the walk, and is largely due to the support of CPS's Vice President, Jim Waters. They are a division of 500 employees, and they have formed a walk team and hope to raise $5K for JDRF.
Emily wrote and presented a speech explaining what life is like with diabetes, and that her fingers have been poked 28,000 times. She spoke to the 3rd shift employees at 6am and to the 1st shift group at 7am. She was a trooper to get up so early. She did an excellent job, and a British employee told Emily that she looked smashing. :-) Way to go, Emily!

I'm excited to report that we are featured in today's blog entry of Six Until Me!! I stumbled upon Kerri's blog one day, and I've been a fan of her's ever since. I find her extremely funny and very inspirational, and I want my girls to grow up to be just like her! I've already received several guestbook entries and promises to buy coffee, so this is a very good thing. Thanks to Kerri, and please check out her website. She's awesome. : )
